Verna Montessori Parents' Auxiliary
The purpose of this organization shall be to further the interests of the school and this shall be pursued by:
-Bringing together the parents of the students and providing them with "an opportunity to become more effective teachers of their children".
-Demonstrating the value of the educational methods created by Dr. Maria Montessori.
-Fostering a family atmosphere wehre parents and teachers may work together in harmony for a higher and more peacful civilization.
-Raising funds to provide for the needs of Verna Montessori School.
Roles of Board Members:
President: Call bi-monthly meetings and preside over these meetings. He shall appoint all standing coommittees, with the exception of the nominating committee, and shall perform other duties which may be assigned him by the organization.
Vice-President: Assume duties of the President upon the latter's absence or disability, and shall perform other duties which the President may assign.
Secretary: Shall record the minutes of all meetings, prepare them for distribution to current VMS families, and perform other necessary record keeping.
Treasurer: Shall receive all funds and shall keep an accurate record of all receipts and expenditures. The treasurer shall present a financial statement at every meeting, maintain the VMPA's bank accounts, and pay out all funds by check as authorized by the organization. Also, the treasurer shall prepare an annual report to be submitted to the Advisory Board two weeks before the term will expire. At the end of the Treasurer's term, an audit of the books shall be undertaken by the incoming and outgoing President and Vice Presidents.
